From December 2023 to November 2024, I was the Creative Leadership Programme Co-ordinator for Plymouth Culture, producing all aspects of the pilot creative leadership programme.

The Creative Leadership programme challenges dominant models of hierarchical leadership in ways that support the development of Plymouth’s cultural ecology.

On its pilot year, it benefited 40 Creative Leaders in Plymouth and the surrounding area by delivering five steams of activity: 

1. Convening a Focus Group to help shape the programme.

2. Mentorships comprising a pairing between a Mentor and a Creative Leader.

3. Bursaries awarded to support participants to undertake an activity, training or go-and-see visit to support their own Creative Leadership development.

4. Action Learning Sets comprising meetings of up to five participants on two focus areas – ‘Gaining Confidence as a Creative Leader’ led by Natasha Player, and ‘Leading with Care and Empathy’ led by Ciara Eastell. 

5. Events attended by participants and stakeholders.
